Fees and Costs

The research services we provide are bespoke and tailored to meet your requirements.

Our aim is to provide a service to suit all budgets. 

Fees

Fees will be agreed in advance, and can be on either a Time Spent or Fixed Fee Basis:

Time Spent

This is currently £35 per hour.

At the onset of the project, and for your certainty, the work to be undertaken would be agreed, and a cap put on the number of hours to be spent.

Fixed Fee

The quantum would depend on many factors; the overall complexity of the project, based on such matters as the location of the ancestors, names involved, the period being researched, how much information is already known by our Families, what records they hold, and the availability of online records. Fees currently start from:

• £350 for each direct ancestor e.g. parent, grandparent, great-grandparent; to include detailed research, using a number of genealogy and other websites, newspaper archives, sourcing and obtaining birth, marriage, death and any other records, transcribing handwritten records that are in English, analysing records, sourcing relevant Web links and compiling comprehensive Profiles
• £35 for each of their children; to include partial research i.e. birth, marriage, occupation and any interesting facts

The Fixed Fee will include:

• A Summary of the project e.g. "Smith Family History", to include brief details of the direct ancestors who have been researched
• A "Big Reveal" meeting to relate our findings
• Links to the online Tree on Ancestry, to allow our Families to view the content on an ongoing basis

Costs

Where it is necessary to obtain records and certificates from third parties, the costs will be chargeable.

Presentation Pack

As the Tree is available to view online, we would not normally print hard copies of the Profiles. One key reason is, that in view of their comprehensive nature, they can sometimes run to over 40 pages for each direct ancestor!  Another is that it is a "living" Tree, subject to change when new information is unearthed, and we want to ensure that our Families are viewing the "real time" information at all times. Plus, we want to save the real trees! 

However, we would be pleased to produce a hard copy presentation pack for a small charge..

Publications

More detailed publications e.g. in the form of a "Coffee Table" style book, may be compiled upon request. The content and style would be bespoke. A fee for this service would be agreed in advance.
