Having worked in the Finance sector for over 35 years, both as a Partner and Head of Trust and Corporate for an international firm of accountants, I turned my attention to my passion: genealogy.
It started many years ago when researching my own family tree. I was just sad that my parents and grandparents were not alive to hear the amazing stories of our ancestors. I then embarked on research for friends, most of whom, like me, knew very little about their history. They kindly made charitable donations so it was a 'win-win' situation. Again, the findings were wonderful. I then decided to take matters a step further by undertaking formal training with the University of Strathclyde, which I really enjoyed. The rest, as they say, is history.
I am a past fellow of the Institute of Directors and attained Chartered Director status, and a retired member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
I am a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and various UK and international genealogy groups.
For leisure, I like to travel, go to the theatre and walk. I also love singing and I have been a member of the Jersey Gilbert and Sullivan Society and SwingStyle for many years. The latter sings for charity in such places as residential homes and day centres, which gives me great pleasure.
