Fees and Disbursements
Our bespoke services include comprehensive research of genealogy platforms, historical archives, civil and other records, designed to suit both your unique needs and budget, with flexible payment options available across the project timeline.
We deeply value the relationships we build with each family and are committed to complete transparency in all our fees. From start to finish, we ensure there are no unexpected costs - just clarity, trust, and exceptional service.
Fees
We offer two flexible pricing options to accommodate your needs: Time Spent or Fixed Fee.
To ensure you have complete clarity, we also offer a complimentary consultation to outline the Scope of Work, after which we will provide a personalised quotation.
Time Spent
- Ideal for clients seeking targeted, or limited, research support
- Deliverables: A clear and comprehensive report summarising our findings
- Hourly Rate: £45 per hour
- Hourly Cap: A maximum number of hours will be agreed upfront to ensure full transparency
- Any work beyond the agreed cap will be discussed and approved in advance
Fixed Fee
- Perfect for those wishing to uncover their family history and create a family tree, while enjoying certainty around costs by providing details about who they would like to be researched, and the historical depth of the investigation
- Deliverables: Vivid “Facts” and “LifeStory” profiles bringing each direct ancestor to life
- A concise summary of the research project (e.g. “Smith Family History”)
- Access for both you and your family to your ‘living’ online Tree and Profiles
- An exciting “Big Reveal”, either face to face or by video, depending on the family’s location, when we will share and celebrate our findings
- Fees: Starting from £450 per direct ancestor, dependant on factors such as ancestor locations, name commonality, research period, available family information, and online record accessibility
Additional Research Options:
- Military Research: From £250 per direct ancestor, including Ministry of Defence requests
- Partial Child Research: From £75 per child, covering birth, marriage, occupation details, and notable facts
Disbursements
For both Time Spent and Fixed Fee projects, there may be instances where it is necessary for us to obtain records from third parties.
Examples are:
- Civil certificates (e.g. birth, marriage, and death records)
- Other records not available online (e.g. Probate documents)
- Specialist transcriptions (e.g. military, medical, or non-English language records)
Fees for such records will be charged at cost
Other Services
- Digitising and Cataloguing family photos and memorabilia for adding to your tree, designed to enhance your family history project
- Arranging DNA Testing including analysing the results
- Creating a bespoke Publication e.g. "Coffee Table" style book to showcase your family story
- EU Passport Applications including:
- Gathering relevant information and requisite documentation
- Accurate completion and submission of the application
- Expert guidance and co-ordination throughout the entire process
Fees for these services would be charged on a Time Spent basis.
Payment Plans
Upon acceptance of a quotation, a deposit will be payable, based on the project scope and agreed fees, along with a pre-payment for any identified disbursements.
The remaining balance can then be spread over the duration of the project (typically three months) by way of a pre-agreed payment plan.

Each voucher includes a complimentary consultation to discuss the recipient’s research needs, and showcase examples of our work.
